A Short History of the French Revolution does a remarkable job of summarizing the complexities of the French Revolution and Napoleon's reign in 150 pages. There were a few places that the events were hard to follow, but on a whole, Popkin does an excellent job. I used this book as an overview and delved deeper into some key events with other books.
